Create Everyday

Celebrate the Little Things Everyday

The other day I realized that it’s been roughly six months since I first launched Mereygo-Round. I know that- to many people this may not seem like a milestone or notable accomplishment, but for me the blog almost didn’t happen MANY, MANY times because of FEAR.

Fear of what others would think, Fear of what others wouldn’t understand, Fear of the unknown, and the list goes on and on.

Six months, half a year, roughly 180 days(ish). Sure in the large scale of things not so much time, but honestly I can’t even remember a time without the blog so it’s weird that it’s only been six months to me. I have also learned more in this past year, then I ever could have dreamed of!

Okay getting to my point here and not just brushing my own shoulder or “weird bragging” myself.

What I wanted to do this week, was just to share some of the LIFE LESSONS I have learned over the past year (since quitting my job and pursuing my dreams) in hopes of maybe sparking a fire under anyone who needs that EXTRA PUSH, to go after what they love, and to pursue it with everything they have and to NEVER GIVE UP on themselves.

Here we go, the Life Lessons I have learned thus far, since deciding to pursue my dreams.

Never Be Afraid to Stand Up for What You Believe In, ESPECIALLY When It’s The Hard Thing To Do.

Usually doing the right thing is the HARDER choice, or else we would all DO THE RIGHT THING all the time (I like to think/hope). With that over the past few months we have seen our country divided in so many areas, all while in the midst of a Global Pandemic.

For me, as someone who is trying to grow a following in the hopes of furthering my career, often I am at a crossroads. Do I speak out on issues such as A. Wearing a face mask in public B. BLM Movement C. The Climate of the country, ETC.

Or Do I play it safe so I can keep my follower count and to not ruffle feathers so I can keep growing and growing?

YES this all sounds SO SUPERFICIAL and it’s honestly the part of the “business” I hate the most, but it’s a huge part of it – growing your following.

With that I have found that I do lose some followers when I speak out on sensitive topics, but you know what I’ve learned?

That I’m not just okay with it, I prefer it! If you cannot stand to see the point of view of someone else who differs from you or if their point of view threatens you to the point you have to defollow- THEN PLEASE DEFOLLOW.

I would however prefer, that we could try to “normalize” that we can still have relationships and co-exist with those whose opinions/beliefs differ from ours.

Can we all try to LISTEN and to LEARN from one another without getting angry, threatened or blocking someone for a different opinion?

I want to normalize talking about the important things in life, and sure while it’s fine and dandy to post your bikinis pics of you laying off the Amalfi Coast (guilty as charged) there is A LOT of IMPORTANT stuff going on as well in the BIGGER picture of things- and it’s important to vocalize that – In my opinion!

I always try to think- you want to be in the “influencer” space so INFLUENCE, speak out on what matters and don’t be afraid to do SO, even at the risk of losing a few!

I know that we aren’t all on the same career path, but I firmly believe we are all “influencers” in our right, as we are being listened to by friends, family, and those around us. We all have a unique voice and different perspective on the world- Don’t be afraid to voice your opinions and to LISTEN TO THE OPINIONS OF OTHERS!

“Mention it All”- Bethenny Frankel, Skinnygirl Legend, Former RHONY.

Own Who You Are, Make No Excuses and Be completely YOU.

Often people think because I’m confident that I don’t care what people think………..UMMM WRONG!!

I am a complete people pleaser and add the anxiety on top- OHHH I could rethink a conversation for hours. Going over and over what was said and making up different scenarios in my head of how maybe I said or did something to offend the other person (crazy right?!?)

What I have learned however over the course of my life but specifically over the past year is that you really shouldn’t concern yourself with the opinions of others, especially if you’re following what you love to do.

If you continue to play it safe, and follow the crowd YOU WILL BE MISERABLE because you’re not doing WHAT YOU ARE MEANT TO DO- YOU ARE DOING WHAT OTHERS HAVE DEEEMED “POPULAR”.

Initially when I decided to start the blog, I feared how I would explain what I was doing without sounding like a naïve young girl who doesn’t understand how the world works.

The idea that it looks like I’m living out this “dress up land, with a camera” hoping to one day “make it big”, kind of vibe.

In the beginning of this whole journey, after quitting my job- I would get asked “so what do you do now”?  I used to DREAD answering it.

At the beginning of this journey –  I would whisper (for me at least) in a very insecure way- “oh I have this blog thingy it’s about my life, IDK its confusing”, all with my eyes down fumbling over my words.

I still get upset with myself thinking about anytime that I didn’t loudly and proudly proclaim- OH IM A BLOGGER and hand them my business card with my logo on the front and a leopard design on the back (are you surprised!?!?)

“There is something so liberating about finding YOUR place in life. While yes we are only human and the thoughts and opinions of others will always be there- but true FREEDOM is not allowing those voices in your head or the voices of others to stop you from pursuing whatever it is that you want in life.”

Oh and BTW if you haven’t figured it out if anyone ever tries to stand in the way of you taking a risk- THEY ARE PROBABLY JEALOUS THEY DON’T HAVE THE GUTS TO GO AFTER THEIR OWN DREAMS.

Just Don’t Stop, You Can Walk As Slow as Possible but Don’t Stop.

Freshman year of HS I decided to play lacrosse(LOL). The coach wanted to get us into tip top shape and said we had to be able to run for 45 minutes straight. She told us we could basically be walking but with a pep in our step for 45 minutes.

SO naturally I took the “pep in your step” literally and was basically doing a limp walk during those 45 minutes- BUT NEVER GAVE UP! Slowly but surely my speed increased from a “limp walk” to more of a “jog vibe situation” and I built my endurance up and was in the best shape of my life by the end of the season.

**Disclaimer** I later was talked to by the coach about how slow I was going but that doesn’t make for a good story so lets’ resume*

The moral of this story is that on days where I’m feeling like NOTHING IS WORKING and IT’S ALL FOR NOTHING, wanting to give up out of frustration or fear of financial RUINS( lol )the idea is to NEVER QUIT and TO KEEP GOING.

On days where you can’t give your best, still give the 100% you have to give that DAY.

I promise you, that each time you want to give up, by choosing not to you are making a big statement to the universe and the statement is;

I BELIEVE IN MYSELF ENOUGH NOT TO GIVE UP.

If you believe it enough, pretty soon you will find your right path and you will find a lot more people who also believe in the YOU, that YOU believe in (tongue twister right?)

IT STARTS WITH YOU FIRST THOUGH. Believe in yourself so much that others are almost forced to BELIEVE as well.

End Scene

Okay so sorry for my OCD folks but 3 is my lucky number so I will leave it there. Also I HAVE SO MUCH LEFT TO LEARN LOL, these are just a few I wanted to share!

During these impossible and literally most INSANE of times I think we are all ON EDGE and all need something to bring a spark of joy and creativity back into our lives.

With that- I ecnourage you to do something you LOVE EVERYDAY.

Choose YOU EVERYDAY.

Don’t Give UP ON Yourself EVER, especially on the really hard days.

#createeveryday

Most importantly, never stop believing in your greatness.

I believe in you all (:

Great post. Articles which have meaningful and insightful comments are more
enjoyable, at least to me. It is interesting to read
what others thought and how it relates to their clients, as their perspective
could possibly help you later on.
    Best regards,
