Merey Gormley and Her Best Friend Gabrielle Massaro at West Virginia University

My Best Friend is Engaged, Now What!?!

Cheers, Beers, and Engaged EERS!

How does one adequately put into words, how they feel when their best friend finds THEIR PERSON and they decide to both commit themselves to one another for the REST OF THEIR LIVES.

Life truly doesn’t get better than these milestone moments, and for that I want to dedicate and take the time to congratulate Gabrielle Massaro and her Fiance ,Jon Molina on their engagement over the past weekend! I will save all the details for them to tell, but it was done on the fourth of July in front of both of their families on the beach in Sea Isle City, New Jersey.  Did I mention it was Gab’s moms’ birthday (WHAT A GIFT) you can’t make this up- MAGICAL for everyone!!!

Gab and Jon met our freshman year at WVU while both working at The Lyons Den. While I am so grateful they both worked there so that they could have met, my waistline really took a hit because of all the free breadsticks they would bring me late night- but again besides the point!!!

Okay enough out of me not my story to share but please join me in congratulating them both!!

To honor my dear friend Gab during one of the happiest and most important moments of her life, and to share in this milestone, I wanted to list out the things that Gab has taught me throughout our friendship over the years. I know I have taught you patience my dear- but thanks for the memories I love you and couldn’t be happier for you and Jon!!

The Things I Learned from My Gibby

Living with your Best Friend doesn’t have to ruin the friendship if it’s real

When Gab and I decided we were both going to WVU, it only made sense that we would room together! We had been besties since 7th grade and it was the most natural fit. I know our parents had their reservations, in fact Mr. Massaro brings it up every time I see him how he can’t believe we are still on speaking terms after living together all four years of college- FRIENDSHIP baby stronger than the storm and truly wouldn’t have wanted to share the journey with anyone else!!!

I will say that my drunken turkey chili night really tested our friendship, but we bounced back and we GOOOD. (Don’t ask lol, Gabs still traumatized)

Sauce Vs. Gravy and Wawa Vs Sheetz

It’s Gravy not Sauce,  period end of statement and after years of living with Ms. Gabrielle I will never challenge this and encourage you all to not as well!

I also know the rag you use to wipe up a mess is a “Mappine” not a dishtowel. Oh and last thing – NEVER BURN THE GARLIC- you simply cannot come back from it and that is ITALIAN GOLD!!!!!  I mean it if you BURN THE GARLIC you must start over, PERIOD END OF STATEMENT.

Oh and no questions asked and Gab will tell everyone and ANYONE SHEETZ is nothing compared to WAWA!  Wawa Ice tea, a soft pretzel and WOOODAAA ICEEE are the way to this South Philly Queens heart!!

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff but definitely sweat the BIG stuff lol.

College Merey wasn’t such a “Zen Merey” therefore one night Gab had a talk with me that I should work on not sweating the small stuff so much. That very night at a house party at WVU I put my coat down. Some boy decided to use my coat to erase the chalkboard that was keeping the beer pong winner count leaving chalk all over my black peak coat.

Gab walks up to me and goes “hold my hoops” someone disrespected your coat”, “I’M  ready to scrap for you.” I thought and said aloud “wait aren’t we not sweating the small stuff?” and Gab reminded me that anyone who disrespects me or my property will hear from her. We still laugh about that night and Gab joking “out of everything you have ever been mad at how was your coat being ruined not one of them”,”LOL the SMALL STUFF.” Don’t Worry that boy got what he had coming haha.

Find Yourself a friend who will leave class multiple times to jump your car or even just a friend who knows how to do it.

I’m sure you may have heard the story but if you haven’t I had a series of events my senior year of high school where whoops I forgot my lights weren’t automatic and well you know- had to call Gab out of art class to jump that bad boy.

Oh and senior year when I accidentally fender bender(ed) my car into my sisters ride in the driveway- who was able to buffer up my car at school that day!?!? I bet you can guess!!!

You become a sum of the accents of your friends and the Reality TV You watch (Jersey Shore came out fresh year of WVU)

Based on shows in college (Jersey Shore and Housewives) plus living with Gab, I have a mix of several accents that dependent on how many alcoholic beverages I have we continue to make our way further and further away from the suburbs of Malvern, all the way through Delco, down to South Philly, then BOOM we in Staten Island before we know it, JUST LIKE THAT!!!

GIB your to blame and I wouldn’t want it any other way- my multiple personalities have certainly helped me in my next career path so thanks for that!!!!

“Friendship is the Comfort of Knowing that even when you feel alone, you aren’t.”

To the Future Mr. and Mrs. Jon Molina I couldn’t be happier for you as you begin the journey of the rest of your lives together. I see nothing but a wonderful life together (me included.) I cannot wait to celebrate every moment along the way.

Love you both and CONGRATS- WE GETTING MARRIED #MarryingMolinas

Vibes
Xo,
