#BirthofMerey Volume 28

Alexa Play, “In Da Club” by 50 Cent.

Okay, okay I know I sound dated but honestly, this song NEVER gets old especially during my birthday WEEK. Yes, I said WEEK (at least I don’t make it a month). On a side note, due to Christmas I actually can’t make it a month, but let’s not go off on a tangent here.

I am SUPER OBSESSED with my birthday, like actually the other day my dad called me prior to my birthday party just to make sure it wasn’t my 30th Birthday as he felt I was making such a BIG deal it must not be a random age birthday. NOPE. Just 28 and great, may I add.

Understanding some people absolutely hate their birthday, for example, my father (again) opted to get a root canal last year on his birthday, something I would never do, however this is what makes the world go ‘round!

Basically, I give Queen Stassi Shroeder of “Vanderpump Rules” a run for her money. Oh, and not that I need to explain myself, but my love of my birthday has been as long as I can remember, and yes, that includes before SOCIAL MEDIA (ugh I just got chills, like can you even remember?!)

In all honesty, I enjoy my birthday so much that it’s the day of year that I use my phone the least because I am that engaged with who I’m with and what we are doing. I am however blessed that my crew does a great job of capturing the moments. I’m sure some sort of FEAR is involved but like it’s fine, it’s #BirthofMEREY.

Although people may think it’s absolutely ridiculous to celebrate your birthday the way I do, my “Vibe Tribes” have absolutely embraced my love of my birthday, even if they do not prefer their own. All I can say is I am blessed enough to have found a crew who knows how important it is to me!!

“Your circle should want you to win. Your circle should clap the loudest when you have good news. If they don’t, get a new circle.”

Understand it’s “just a birthday”, but surround yourself with people who want to see you WIN and want to see you at your HAPPIEST.

#BirthofMEREY Memory Lane

Some of my favorite birthday memories, followed by some pictures to show you how it’s real.

1. West Virginia University, High School Senior, 18th Birthday.

This sealed the deal for me for making me go to WVU. Down in Morgantown, West Virginia, you’re allowed to go to bars if you’re eighteen. Obviously, I hopped on this opportunity and took my talents to a club called “Karma”, not to be confused with the Jersey Shore club, same vibe however.

2. West Virginia University, Sophmore Year, 20th Birthday.

Not to condone fake ID’s, but my fake ID had me turning 23 and as someone dedicated to playing a character, I made sure I told everyone I was 23. I had my cousin and sister get me a Coldstone ice cream cake that said “Happy 23rd” so no questions would be asked. I will never forget how old I felt sipping on cosmopolitans and eating sushi at twenty years old. Oh, to be young again.

3. New York City/Hoboken, New Jersey 26th Birthday.

This birthday was huge because it was the first birthday in five years that I was single. I was finally starting to get into the groove of being single again, and realizing that you can be HAPPY without a relationship. My ladies and I crushed it at “Boozy Bottomless Brunch” and of course took our talents to the streets of Hoboken, with my microphone in tow singing “You Don’t Own Me” which is featured in the “First Wives Club”.

** For the record, the First Wives Club is currently also on Netflix, yeah your welcome. **

To conclude my 26th birthday, I traveled to LA for the first time and my gift from my parents and grandparents was a stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel for two nights.

4. Hoboken, New Jersey, 28th Birthday, “MereyCon”.

Okay, so the birthday of all birthdays I am mentioning just happened and it was my favorite birthday to date. As you all may be aware, I am completely obsessed with Bravo and all things “Housewives.” Oh, and I absolutely love a good theme and a WIG, so MereyCon it was. As I was unable to make BravoCon I thought this would be perfect alternative. I went ALL OUT and I mean I feel as though no stone was left unturned. Okay, I know I’m bragging but like I made the Facebook invite on October 14th, a whole two months prior, so this was going to be BIG.

I was incredibly impressed with how “all out” my friends went and how amazing everyone’s costumes turned out. Everyone knew how much this meant to me and to see them show up honestly overwhelmed me with joy. I was blessed enough to have most of my tribes come into town, which I called “A Collide of the Vibe Tribes.” All my friends in one place, what could be better or more overwhelming?

Jokingly, I described myself as an over-stimulated 2-month-old golden retriever puppy who was just gifted to a family full of kids on Christmas.

Okay enough out of me, let’s let the pictures do the talking.

Vibes
Xo,
